Mileshiggins Farm
The family have farmed at Mileshiggins for around 80 years with Tom, Aimee's husband, being the 4th generation to look after the land. The farm is mainly livestock & grazing, most of it being on ancient pasture (i.e ground that has not been heavily worked to modern industrial standards).
We keep a flock of Texel cross ewes which we lamb every Spring and a pedigree herd of Hereford cattle which calve year-round.
Tom's recent passion project has been his 'pond', which he has recently reinstated and fenced off from the livestock to create a wildlife-friendly habit.
We also yearly plant wild-bird cover to help all of our native invertebrates by providing food and a home from predators.
